The bread itself is something which was created in America to go along with this tasty sandwich. It was created to bring together a few of the celebrated foods from Cuba. The main ingredient is pork just as in so many of the other dishes which have been created on the island. Arroz con Pollo Among the many different dishes that you can try which is purely Cuban, one of the staples is arroz con pollo. This is a peasant dish which was created by those working in the fields needing something that could cook while they were working. They tossed in a chicken along with a few vegetables they might have had on hand and some rice and cooked their lunch. It resembles the Paella from Spain in a lot of ways, only it has fewer vegetables and there is more concentration on the flavor of the chicken. Carnes con Papas A great snack type of dish that you can try is carnes con papas. This is a dish which includes meat which is wrapped in potatoes and then deep fried. Many people enjoy using some vinegar along with these different kinds of fried goods. Having a slaw is a common accompaniment to the papas.
